Poll: Almost 60% of Democrats think Socialism is Great for America, Video: Sanders Explains Why

According to a recent poll by the American Action Network (AAN) a clear majority of Democrats believe socialism has a “positive impact on society.”

A telephone poll of 1,000 likely Democratic primary voters revealed that only 25 percent of the respondents favored capitalism.

More than two-thirds of those surveyed agreed with the statement “most of the media in our country is controlled by corporations who are more interested in profits than telling the truth. Before a corporate owned media entity covers a campus rally for racial equality, they should first prove that they are not biased against the content of the rally.”

Respondents ranged from “very liberal” to “moderate” on the political ideological scale.

This is not surprising in light of the recent surge among liberals supporting Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Sanders’ ideology is rooted in the belief that injustice is embedded in American political tradition and that “in America the rich are too rich and opportunities for the middle class are few and far between.”

He often praises Democratic presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson for their emphasis on using the federal government to “create jobs” and “lift Americans out of poverty.”
